My Christmas in September Special was a success – all 5 packages sold out. $25 from each session would be donated to UNICEF.

Perfect timing for now until the end of October, supporters have offered a $500,000 grant to match dollar for dollar the first $500,000 in gifts.

In keeping with UNICEF, I’ll match the money from the special to donate a total of $250, which will be matched so UNICEF will receive $500.

If you were thinking to donate towards the relief operations in Somalia, Haiti, Pakistan and other areas where children are impacted by starvation and disease, consider donating now before the October 31 deadline so your donation would be matched dollar for dollar. Click here to donate: UNICEF

Harts at Play

The following image of these three brothers, Cody, Logan and Owen, were inspired by a photo layout in a recent fashion magazine. Fashion is art!

And this is a another “Then and Now” moment. On the left, Cody in 2003 and on the right, Cody current day with Stella. Time sure flies and this is why I love what I do.

Expecting

Joe and Kim relocated here in Portland from the Midwest and are far from loved ones. Their first child is expected to arrive late September. Joe is the tough, old school, no nonsense type. But you can see when around his wife Kim, Joe is adoring, warm and caring. Hope all the loved ones in Kim and Joe’s life celebrate in seeing them so happy and send them lots of love and well wishes.

Hobart & Phedra

Hobart is a beautiful Somali mix. Very personable. He’ll walk right up to you as if requesting for a scratch by his ears. I think he is quite confident about his looks. Phedra is a calico. A little aloof. She is quite stunning with those beautiful green eyes and makes you feel it is a privilege to be in her presence. Hobart and Phedra had me wrapped around their paws while I followed them, with camera in tow, on their adventures.

Sambucca & Guinness

What GOOD DOGS! Sambucca, the big lovable chocolate Labrador loves to kiss kiss kiss! I think my whole face was wet! Guinness says “Hey don’t forget me!” and will try to beat Sambucca to reach and kiss your face! Love these guys!

Pretty Lady

This is Serilda Summers McGee. She is the Portland Business Alliance’s Program Director for Leadership Portland and Partners in Diversity.

She came to me for her professional Bio/PR. I just got a new light modifier, a Beauty Dish, that I used for this shot.

Serilda has such a bubbly personality and is innately goofy. She is quick to make you laugh and place you at ease. It took a while but I kept working with her to finally settle her down and get her out of that goofy mood to get this beautiful look.

An idea passed along by my friend and former business coach, Kathy Nelson, is to inspire others by sharing ONE big valuable “tip” through blogging, FB, tweeting, etc. . My tip is based upon the fact of life that children grow up fast and simple moments may fade with time. Take pictures of your family doing the simple things that you typically do as a family. For the Butler’s, it is reading all the Harry Potter books.

If you have a valuable tip, take the time to share it today. Happy January 11, 2011!

Santa Visits Doernbecher

Families attending the clinics on the 7th floor of Doernbecher Children Hospital were treated to a big surprise this past Wednesday. What a delight to see the faces of little ones light up as they spot Santa Claus sitting in his chair waving hello and belting out “Ho Ho Ho!” High shrieks of “It’s Santa Claus!” fill the hallway.
