The Portland Business Alliance asked if I would photograph ESCO’s Tony Guiterrez for their Jobs Report on local manufacturing. I wanted to make sure I got the machinery and the glowing fiery liquid in the background. So how do we get ambient background light to show up? Right, use a longer shutter speed. But the light was too dim to get a nice exposure on Tony in the foreground. So I set up an Einstein bouncing into a small umbrella on a light stand. My exposure was 1/20s at f/5.0, with ISO 800 using Nikon AF 85 f/1.4 + D300.
