Joni Photo bio picture

Hi There!

I'm very excited to explore the multi uses of this site.

Being a dynamic medium and not static like a traditional website, this blog will allow the viewer to see my latest work in the specific category of their interest simply by sorting the post by "categories", e.g. kids, events or furry BFF's.

Some posts will be educational in providing a little insight as to how some of these images are created, my thought process, etc.  And maybe "too much information (TMI) but some posts will share a little glimpse into my interests outside of photography such as wine, food and giving back to the community.

Would love to hear your feedback!

Enjoy!

Joni

How to Win Friends and Influence People

The title of this book should be updated or I should cover it with pretty wrapping paper like how I covered my text books in Jr. High School.  Last year at WPPI, one of my favorite speakers was Matthew Jordan Smith.  Throughly enjoying 2 of the 3 books he recommended, “The Alchemist” and “Selling the Invisible“, I started on his third recommendation on my flight down to LA a week ago.

The cover of the book is emblazoned with large bold type “How to Win Friends and Influence People.”  I found myself looking around to make sure no one was looking before pulling the book out of my carryon to read.  Surprisingly this book is packed with pearls of wisdom.  Most strikingly to me was 1) avoid an argument (you’re never going to change a person’s view unless they are open to change) and 2) never say “you’re wrong.”  Should’ve read this book back when I was in the corporate world.

As previously mentioned, this book contains great insight  - just wish they would update the title so when I read it in public I don’t appear to be like such a loser.
