Obon Festival

Obon is a Japanese Buddhist custom celebrating a time in which ancestors and their sacrifices are remembered and appreciated.  The Oregon Buddhist Temple held an Obon festival this past Saturday.  Paper lanterns inscribed with a loved one’s name were strung above the dancers and watched over the celebration.  This brings back some very fond childhood memories for me.
