Santa Visits Doernbecher

Families attending the clinics on the 7th floor of Doernbecher Children Hospital were treated to a big surprise this past Wednesday. What a delight to see the faces of little ones light up as they spot Santa Claus sitting in his chair waving hello and belting out “Ho Ho Ho!” High shrieks of “It’s Santa Claus!” fill the hallway.

TWINS! Double the cuteness and double the fun! Meet Jude and Noelani – they are New Year’s Eve babies born December 31st 2009. Can you image what New Year’s Eve parties are going to be like at their house!

And then we have this sweet moment with Mom giving big brother Ezra a big warm cuddle and to thank him for being such a great Big Brother to his baby bro and sister.

Childhood Buddies

When photographing your little ones, something to keep in mind is to include their favorite buddies. In this case, Emi loves her “Bun Bun” sitting next to her and their family doggie, Gracie. Many years from now when Emi has kids of her own and she stumbles upon this photograph, hopefully fond memories of her beloved Bun Bun and Gracie will come flooding back.

Henry – Then and Now

I love these then and now comparisons. It’s hard to remember that Henry was ever this little. He’s such a fun, happy and very animated little toddler now. And quite the little charmer! He definitely has perfected the art of flirting! He’ll smile and laugh at you and next thing you know, you’re hooked!

Lessons from Dad

Luckily Hayden landed his punch even with his eyes closed! Dad is a martial arts champion and is beginning to teach his son the difference of knowing when to defend oneself against bullies and when not to instigate a fight. Breon is built like a tough middle linebacker with the heart and soul of a gentle zen master. I loved photographing the interactions between he and his son, Hayden.

Breon Gardner, a.k.a. Dad, is also owner of Body Balance Techniques with a great location in downtown SW Portland. This is a first class facility, much like ones you’d find in West LA where Hollywood’s A listers and the corporate power brokers would get into fighting shape! Breon’s facility has beautiful showers and locker rooms filled with all the amenities to wash off the sweat and get you back pumped and ready for those power meetings!

Sign Up – Race for Justice

What I’d like to know is why there is no ice cream being handed out at the finish line for the adult race?! Kids get all the fun!

This year’s Race for Justice is Saturday, JUNE 19th. Click here for more information. It is easy this year to register and ask for pledges online! Hopefully I’ll see you there!

SALC helps bridge the gap for families who do not qualify for Legal Aid and can not afford to hire a private attorney. As a result of the legal representation that SALC provides, families have increased financial security, stay off of welfare and are overall more productive members of our society. And more children also grow up in positive and safe environments as a result of SALC’s intervention.

eTrade Babies

This image from a recent shoot to update Dr. Brandon’s website reminded me of the eTrade commercials with the talking babies. I wish I had Dr. Brandon when I was younger. His philosophy is to create a non-threatening environment for both parents and kids. My pediatric dentist drilled without novocaine and watched sports on TV while working on me. Ohhh bad memories.

Dr. Brandon also provides FREE initial exams for children under 3 years!

I will let you know when the new Dr. Brandon website launches. It is pretty cool!
